The simpliest technique to manufacture tiles is that of pressing wet clay into wooden frames.
The manufacturing creates a certain variety of small imperfections that make the “charm” of handmade tiles. This effect can be limited or accentuated (traces of imprints, addition of chamotte, roundings of angles and edges, …) in order to become the major element of decoration.
In concordance with the project, other techniques like the moulding of clay-plates, mosaic and modeling can be used to work in relief.
